Sarah Riske

Certifications:

  • University of Alberta – Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology
  • Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology – Clinical Exercise Physiologist
  • Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology – High Performance Specialization

History:

Growing up, Sarah spent most of her free time at the barn with her horse, training and competing in dressage. It wasn’t until university that Sarah first stepped into a gym. Setting goals and working towards them at the gym helped Sarah build confidence and get through some very tough years at university. Eventually, she realized that she wanted to help others find confidence and joy through movement and that led her to pursue a career in fitness.

Trainee Type:

Sarah enjoys helping everyone work towards their goals, but she has a special place in her heart for the older adult population, and individuals just starting their fitness journey.

Training Philosophy:

Showing up consistently and working towards better movement patterns will always bring you closer to your goals. Along the way you will reap so many benefits both mentally and physically as you master new skills and build your confidence. Embrace the process and enjoy the journey. It is not about how fast you get there. It is about how much you learn and grow along the way.

Favourite Exercise:

It takes time and patience to learn, but I would have to say the Turkish Get Up. There is something very satisfying about being able to get up off the ground while holding a weight above your head.
